Angola: African Development Bank Vice President Akin-Olugbade on mission to boost development impact​
5 July 2024- Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, AfDB Vice-President, visited Angola from June 25-28, 2024, to discuss the 2024-2029 Country Strategy Paper. She met with officials to plan projects focused on economic diversification and clean energy. Highlights included successful water and sanitation projects and progress in Luanda's Science and Technology Park. Akin-Olugbade praised Angola's economic progress and debt management.

Angola’s 10th edition of banana fair comes to an end

5 July 2024- Angola recently concluded its 10th edition of the banana fair in Bengo Province. The event saw significant participation from local farmers, cooperatives, and industry representatives. Angola is the largest banana producer in Africa, with an annual production of over four million tonnes. The fair highlighted Angola's commitment to increasing banana production and processing to enhance the agricultural sector's contribution to the economy​.
